3rd Price for Dialog School in Cologne

In the competition for the Dialog School Centre Allmann Sattler Wappner achieved the third price.
The concept envisions to link the exisiting building typologically and structurally with the new and extended building. A u-shaped structure with varying cross sections allows both a differentiated and an economical adaption to the functional needs. The patio with an old tree population is situated in the centre and finds its inner spatial correspondent in the bordering theatre forum. Uniform window formats, slightly misaligned to each other, overlap the delicate net of translucently white-washed clinker and reflect the conceptual design, which offers to its occupants within a well-defined strucuture various open spaces both inside and outside the school building.
